About.

Anybody can build with AI. We prove that yours is worth something.

About the project

Sloppy or Not is more than a score. Sloppy or Not exists to tell the difference between what's slop and what's not. We review websites, apps, and software projects against research-backed criteria, using human and AI agent feedback. But the verdict is only where it starts. What we care about is what you do with it.

Prove what you can do. Talent doesn't always come with the right degree, résumé, or connections. Every review gives you real evidence of your work: what you built, what held up, what real users thought, and how you've grown. Not a vanity metric. Proof. Get better, not just ranked.

Who it's for

  • Builders who want proof of their skills and honest feedback, whether they're self-taught, switching careers, or shipping side projects.
  • Students and schools looking for a real-world measure of what learners can make.
  • Teams and founders who want a gut check before launch.
  • Employers and communities who'd rather see evidence than read claims.
  • Hackathons, bootcamps, and nonprofits that want participants leaving with more than a certificate.

Our belief. In a world where anyone can generate something, the people who stand out are the ones who thought about it. Everyone who builds with care should have a way to show it.

Charleston Hacks

Sloppy or Not was born at HarborHacks, the Agent in the Loop hackathon hosted by Charleston Hacks. Charleston Hacks is a nonprofit that supports the tech, entrepreneur, and creative communities of Charleston, SC, bringing people together to make things quickly.

That "human and agent in the loop" theme still shapes how we review: people and AI agents working together to judge what's worth building. It works for any website, app, or software project, not just hackathon entries.

Privacy policy

We collect only what you submit: your project link, your name or username if you give one, your answers, and your email if you give one. We use it to judge your project and, if you sign up, to send the weekly State of Slop email. We don't sell your data.

We never publish your verdict unless you check "Roast me." Your email is never shown to anyone. It is shared with another builder only if you check "Share my email with an approved match" and a person approves that match. To have your data removed, email [email protected].
